Creativity and repurposing fill my soul.

Hello!  I’m Kristen, the designer of Striped Lemon bags.

Striped Lemon Bags started during a meeting at a company I was working for when a brilliant idea struck me like lightning: why not transform vinyl billboards into unique and fun bags? I was confident that I could make it happen.

Before I knew it, I had two billboards in my workshop, and I began designing. Working with the vinyl and selecting the perfect images ignited my creativity and made me feel alive. When I shared the bags with my friends, they were an instant hit.  And then I sold my very first bag.

This idea beautifully combines my childhood passion for sewing, which I share with my mom and sister, and my entrepreneurial journey.  Sewing on my mom's cherished Singer sewing machine, which she received as a wedding gift, was a cherished memory. Later, I ran a consignment boutique for seven years, where I fell in love with upcycling clothing, designing captivating window displays, and connecting with customers. Combining these two elements—sewing and building my business—feels like a perfect match.

Each bag I create is a unique masterpiece. I breathe new life into the material by incorporating the elements from the vinyl itself. Additionally, I adorn them with designs that reflect my passions, such as the ocean and other interests that fuel my creative spirit.
